glad to see it still there. There are large ironwoods in Itasca which we think are smaller than some in the woods you grew up in. Out here in CO the pine beetle kill has turned the mountains brown, just waiting for fire.

Miss those pine, deciduous forests--walking barefoot, the maple and oak reds and rusts, can almost smell the leaf duff. UMMMMM

I seem to have difficulty taking pictures of trees, but this one looks great. The shadows are nice to look at it, and there is a nice contrast between the bark and the...well, not really "leaves." :)

It is there, but the largest red pine lost it's top. it looks like maybe in a storm. the rest of it is still growing.

As for the photo, it is minimally processed. I just got really lucky. The others weren't as good. It also helps to have a good subject. That thing is massive.
